FTF is serving as the SEOR for SLAC’s Critical Utilities Infrastructure Revitalization Subproject 1 Master Substation Design Services, an electrical infrastructure modernization effort to improve long-term utility reliability. FTF’s work includes structural engineering for the new expansion at Master Substation Building 016, replacement of Substation K15B, relocation of the existing 175 kW diesel generator, and related demolition and utility interfaces within the active substation yard. FTF is helping address the project’s complex structural and site constraints, including seismic considerations, constructability, coordination with adjacent planned improvements, and integration of new infrastructure within an operating campus environment.
