SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER
FTF Engineering is looking for a Senior Project Engineer with 10-15 years of structural engineering experience including some management experience. We are a successful and growing engineering firm with an upbeat and staff-oriented culture. We specialize in unique and challenging new building projects, low and midrise multi-family residential structures in concrete and wood, custom high-end single-family homes, resort and hospitality projects, commercial and institutional renovations, seismic evaluation and retrofits, and construction means-and-methods. We have offices in San Francisco and San Luis Obispo.

The successful Senior Project Engineer will have demonstrated experience in the following areas:
- Assisted in project and staff management with direction from the principal in charge.
- Supervised and mentored junior and intermediate designers, drafters, and/or engineers.
- Modeled project ownership and client service by consistently meeting project deadlines and responding to clients’ requests in a timely manner.
- Tracked project budgets and financials during project execution.
- Identified potential issues in a timely manner and proposed favorable solutions regarding project deliverables, budgets, deadlines, and client requests.
- Managed up when presented with conflicting work priorities.
- Reviewed own work and subordinates’ work for technical accuracy.
- Performed detailed and complex calculations with limited direction.
- Drafted proposals, set scope of work, and estimated project fees.
- Conducted field investigations and managed construction support services.
- Managed shop drawing process and reviewed shop drawings for accuracy.
- Created spreadsheet tools and typical details.
- Desired Computer Skills: RISA-3D, SAP2000, ETABS, RAM Structural, Enercalc, Excel, AutoCAD, REVIT (a plus).
Senior Project Engineer Requirements:
- 10 – 15 years working as a structural engineer.
- Design experience with steel, concrete, and wood with a strong analytical background.
- Experience managing at least 2-3 staff engineers.
- Experience working with project stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects at one time efficiently.
- MS in Civil or Structural Engineering (BS considered for the right candidate).
- PE License (SE License preferred).

- BS (entry-level) or MS in Civil or Structural Engineering.
