No, 83 Isn’t Too Old to Renovate. Just Ask San Francisco Resident Roberta Gordon

Originally designed in 1957 and constructed in 1963, this home underwent a major transformation. Perched on a slope like many houses in the Westwood Highlands neighborhood, the shed-roofed 1960s structure boasted a two-car garage at the top of a steep driveway. Below, the single-story, 2,000 square-foot residence overlooked a partially finished basement accessed by a series of steps, lacking an elevator for accessibility. Collaborating with Gast Architects, AGC, and Bjørn Design the team added an elevator for aging-in-place, made seismic safety upgrades, enhanced energy conservation, redesigned the floor plan with an ADU, and created new interiors.
