Santa Maria High School Building 240 HVAC Upgrade, Santa Maria, CA
Structural Engineer of Record for this modernization project which included replacement of HVAC equipment in the science classroom building. The existing roof is made up of pre-engineered open web trusses that required load verification and supplementation. FTF worked closely with the school district, Red-Built and DSA to gain approvals on the replacement of the existing truss webs.
San Ardo Elementary School Modernization, San Ardo, CA
Structural Engineer of Record for this modernization project, which includes the installation of ADA ramps at various locations throughout the campus, the modernization of restrooms in three locations, the modernization of the auditorium, and the modernization of seven classrooms. HVAC, AV, and Food Service equipment support and anchorage at the roof level were also performed.
Santa Maria Joint Union High School District Office Retrofit and Tenant Improvement, Santa Maria, CA
Project Manager for this phased, voluntary, retrofit project of the SMJUHSD District Office. The original building is a voluminous concrete tilt-up structure with a mezzanine. Responsibilities included review of the original construction documents; preparation of as-built documentation; coordination with school district officials and facility manager; and retrofit design and detailing. The retrofit implementation is phased to align with other major interior tenant improvement projects, for which we served as structural engineer to support non-structural components.
Shandon Joint Unified School District, Modernization and Implementation, Shandon, CA
Structural Engineer of Record for the kitchen remodel of Shandon Elementary School and the Shade Structure at Shandon High School. Responsibilities included the design of supplemental framing to support a larger kitchen hood, seismic bracing for the hood, lateral support for the walk-in freezer, and technical support to justify the deflection of a proprietary shade structure.
Dos Pueblos High School Window Replacement, Goleta, CA
Structural Engineer of Record for this modernization project which included replacement of 100 windows on the campus. The campus was originally constructed in the 1960’s. Responsibilities included review of original construction documents, coordination with the Architect of Record and window manufacturer, preparation of construction documents, correspondence with DSA, and responding to RFI’s.
